Editing

Write Like a Native Speaker
English editing aims to produce a text that reads like it was written by a well-educated native speaker. A text edited in this way will meet and, in many cases, exceed the linguistic standards expected of professional publications in the English-speaking world.

In order to help you follow along, as well as to improve your writing in the long run, I include comments explaining major changes, recurring issues and mistakes commonly made by people with your linguistic background. In the premium package, I give even more personalised feedback and coaching, as well as a detailed two-page report outlining your strengths and weaknesses and suggesting issues to focus on.

Reach an International Audience
I have helped clients to publish books with Cambridge University Press, Brill, De Gruyter, Bloomsbury Hart, Academia Press and Pluto Press, as well as articles in leading international journals. I have also worked with a wide range of cultural institutions, including NGOs, independent publishers and museums.

US and UK English
I have extensive experience working to both US and UK standards. For spelling, I refer to the Oxford English Dictionary (UK) or Merriam-Webster (US). For other questions of usage, I consult the authoritative publishing reference works, including The Chicago Manual of StyleNew Hart’s Rules: The Oxford Style Guide and Fowler’s Modern English Usage.
